The team Fantic Racing MX to face the GP of Switzerland

On the long unusual Easter weekend, a new track will be the scenario for the third round of the MX2 world championship, the second round of the WMX world championship, and the opening of the European EMX125.

Santa Maria di Sala (VE), April 6th, 2023

The motocross bikes will restart their engines this weekend in Switzerland for the World and European Championships.

The last time was in 2018 when 16-year-old Tom Guyon finished the Swiss GP in the top 10 in his debut year in EMX125. Lynn Valk was still 15 but was already fighting in the WMX world championship against more experienced rivals.

Today, Tom rides in MX2 and, as well as Lynn, returns to ride the Swiss GP to defend the colours of the Fantic Racing MX Team. With them, in EMX125, there will also be Elias Escandell, Maximilian Werner, and the very young Nicolò Mannini.

It will be an unusual and long weekend: on Easter Sunday, there will be a break so the timetable will be postponed to Easter Sunday. This rescheduling will test riders' concentration only four days before the Italian GP in Pietramurata.

This new program is not the only novelty because the venue of the grand prix will be the Schollenholz circuit, which has not hosted a Grand Prix since the early 1980s. This a challenging aspect for all the riders since most will ride there for the first time.

A schedule that could help Tom Guyon: the French (the oldest, so to speak, of the Fantic Racing team) is not yet in 100% condition, back from the shoulder injury at the Argentine GP that forced him to forfeit the Italian GP in Sardinia two weeks ago. Nevertheless, the French rider has already shown his strong spirit in the GP of Argentina, and he will ride this race with the same determination.

Lynn Valk is at her second race of the WMX season, following the Riola Sardo stage, where the Dutch rider showed grit to spare with two comeback races. But her season started with a victory in the women's class at the international opener of Lierop at the beginning of March.

The GP of Switzerland will also be the first round of the EMX125 European Championship. Fantic Racing is present with its two new riders: Elias Escandell and Maximilian Werner. Both got a very positive pre-season: the Spaniard won the Assoluti d'Italia and is leading the Spanish championship after three rounds. At the same time, the German dominated the international opener of Lierop.

The young Nicolò Mannini will join them: the 15-year-old Fantic Racing rider is making his international debut, and the Swiss GP is an excellent opportunity to gain experience.

Marco Maddii, Fantic Racing team manager: "It's good to be back in Switzerland after five years. Tom is not yet in perfect physical condition, but this long weekend with a break between race 1 and race 2 may help him. Lynn is very eager to get back on his Fantic XXF250. Elias and Werner are in good shape, coming from some good races, and looking forward to their European debut with Fantic. Nicolò is making his debut in EMX125, so for him, it will be a great experience that will serve him to grow."
