Portimao (POR), March 24, 2023.

With Friday's free practice, Fantic wore slick tires for the first time in its history, making its debut in the Moto2 class in the world motorcycle racing championship.

FP1 was dampened in the early stages by a few raindrops, which affected the riders' balance. But they did not intimidate the Fantic Racing Team riders. In the end, Celestino Vietti got seventh, with a time of 1'43.360, 316 hundredths from the hypothetical pole position. Borja Gomez was engaged in six laps to improve his confidence with the bike and the track, finishing with a best time of 1'44.350.

In the afternoon, the sun dried the track for FP2, allowing the riders to improve their morning performance. Celestino managed to lower his time by turning in 1'42.820, which put him in sixth position, While Borja improved his time significantly, turning in 1'43.702.

Celestino Vietti"I am happy. We started in the right gear. The feeling with the bike is good. We have to improve the grip at the rear, maybe because of the weather that has changed a bit from last week."

Borja Gomez"My first day in Portimao ended well. I am happy because I improved, I learned a lot, and we tried some things. It was a positive day, lap after lap. I felt better and better in the saddle, and I fell well. I can't wait to jump on the bike again for qualifying tomorrow! ".
