Espinasse remains at the top of the French Championship

Fantic Factory Racing Enduro’s Théo Espinasse secured a win and a second-place finish in Peyrat-le-Château, while Thibault Giraudon put a second Fantic XE 300 on the E3 podium on both race days.

Théo Espinasse was in prime form for round 3 of the French Enduro Championship. He started the weekend with a win in Friday’s Super Test and backed it up with a near-perfect day 1: setting the fastest time in eight of the nine special tests, Espinasse claimed a dominant victory aboard the Fantic XE 300.

Day 2 was an uphill battle after an off-track excursion in a particularly slippery section during the opening lap left Espinasse with more work to do. He tried to close the gap to his championship rival but had to settle for second place – still another solid result that sees him remain at the top of the standings.

Joining him on the E3 podium was his Fantic Factory Racing Enduro teammate, Thibault Giraudon. Third on both race days and third in the championship standings, the 23-year-old Frenchman is looking strong among the Elite riders as well.

Théo Espinasse:

“Saturday was a really positive day. I had a great feeling on the bike and won my class by a pretty big margin, so it was a strong start to the weekend. A little overnight rain made for tricky conditions going into Sunday. I was opening the course and got stuck on a rocky step, losing around 20 seconds. Later, I didn’t spot a root when they opened up a faster section and lost another 10 seconds. I still managed to finish second, so overall it was a good weekend. I leave with the championship lead and a four-point advantage, which is the most important thing. Thank you everyone for the support!”
