ENDUROGP, Portogallo - Winning debut

ENDUROGP, PORTUGAL – A MAGNIFICENT DAVIDE GUARNERI WINS DAY 2 IN THE E1 CLASS. HAT TRICK FANTIC IN THE YOUTH CLASS

Marco de Canaveses opened the gates of the 2021 Enduro World Championship and on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June the GP of Portugal took place. Fantic riders have been absolute protagonists and there have been many victories and podiums.

Davide Guarneri (Fantic Factory E/50 Racing) on Fantic XEF 250, dominated the Enduro1 class, getting the second step of the podium, while on the following race day he took a class win, the first for the Brescia-based rider and for the Fantic brand. In the Youth category – on Fantic XE 125 – Fantic riders Albin Norrbin (Fantic Darpa Racing Team), Harry Edmondson (Fantic JET Racing) e Kevin Cristino (Fantic Darpa Racing Team) score two hat-tricks and are the class leaders.

Four special tests in the program to be completed three times, two of them located in the same position of last year. A CrossTest and EnduroTest technical and fast, an Extrema challenging and full of natural obstacles and a Super test that took place on both days of the race on the same track of the Prologue on Friday night slightly extended and modified.

In the Enduro1 class, former motocross rider Davide Guarneri came out on top over the Portuguese week-end and won the second day of competition, dominating from the first special test. The Fantic Factory E/50 Racing rider is currently the leader of the E1 class and will try to defend his title next weekend at the GP in Italy.

Great weekend also for Fantic riders in the Youth class in both days of competition. Harry Edmondson won the Day1, Albin Norrbin was on the second step of the podium while Kevin Cristino took the third place. On the following day it was Albin Norrbin who took the top step of the podium, followed by Harry Edmondson in second and Kevin Cristino who repeated his previous day's score with a third place finish.

The Enduro circus does not stop and after the first race in Portugal moves to Edolo in the province of Brescia for the Italian GP scheduled for Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June.

DAVIDE GUARNERI: "This day I will remember forever, in motocross I had a lot of satisfaction while here in the enduro still few. This victory and the leadership of the E1 class are really a surprise but in this period I have trained a lot and with the team we are doing a great job".

RICCARDO FABRIS: "It was not one of my best races, I started too excited and I finished with as much emotion".

ALBIN NORRBIN: "I would say a perfect weekend, first win of the season and leadership in the Youth class. I'm happy for me and for the team who are doing a great job”.

HARRY EDMONDSON: "The Portuguese weekend started in the best way with the victory on Saturday but on Sunday I could not repeat it. Now I'm looking forward to the next GP”.

KEVIN CRISTINO: "Two third places is a good score at the first round of the world championship. Next weekend we will race in Italy and the tension is already high”.
