Baltus Third in the 2025 Moto2 World Championship

A bittersweet ending in Valencia: a tough race on track, but a fantastic result in the standings, with Barry Baltus securing third place in the world championship in his first year with Fantic Racing. Aron Canet bids farewell to the team finishing fourth in the final standings.

The final Grand Prix of an exciting season, held today in Valencia, didn’t bring the on-track emotions the Fantic Racing Team had hoped for, but still results in an outstanding achievement: Barry Baltus is officially third in the 2025 Moto2™ World Championship.

Starting from the fifth row, Baltus was caught up in a first-lap contact that unfortunately ended his race before he could show his pace. A precautionary check at the medical center ruled out any injuries.

Despite today’s disappointment, Barry’s season is one to remember: 7 podiums, 232 points, remarkable consistency and impressive growth, which placed him among the top three Moto2 riders in the world in his very first year with Fantic Racing. A result that rewards his talent, maturity, and the excellent work carried out by him and the entire team.

It was a tough race for Aron Canet as well, who crossed the line in fifteenth place. The Spaniard closes his Fantic Racing chapter with one final point and fourth place in the championship.

Even so, his two years with the team stand out as exceptional: 5 wins, 14 podiums, the 2024 runner-up title, and countless impressive performances.

Fantic Racing extends its sincere thanks to Aron for his professionalism, commitment, and determination all the way to the finish line.

The 2025 season ends with an exceptional outcome for the Italian team: Team World Champions and both riders inside the top 4.

A season built on hard work, passion, and team spirit.

Now the focus shifts forward, ready to build on these strong foundations for another year fighting at the top of the intermediate class.

Barry Baltus:

“I’m very happy with the result in the championship. The team did a fantastic job this year and I’m really proud of it. I’m sorry for today’s race and for the crash, but I couldn’t do anything to avoid it. Now we have to celebrate, because it’s been an intense season and we deserve it. Going from 22nd to 3rd in the championship is amazing. Thank you everyone for the support, I can’t wait to get back on the bike for the test, and be ready for next season.”

Aron Canet:

“It wasn’t the way I wanted to finish the season, and of course I’m not happy with today’s result, I expected more. But that’s racing, and sometimes things just don’t go our way. What really matters is the journey we did together. Over these two years with Fantic Racing, we fought at the front, we won races, we took many podiums and we grew as a team. I’m proud of what we achieved: helping the team win the Moto2 team title is something special. I want to thank every single member of the team for their hard work, their trust and their passion. They always gave me everything, and I gave everything back on track. Now, it’s time to look forward to the next chapter, but I’ll never forget this two years together. I wish you the best, and see you on the podium.”
