Indomitable Vietti finishes 6th in Qatar, Casadei 26th

GP of Qatar, race: an indomitable Vietti finishes sixth, Casadei finishes twenty-sixth

Lusail, November 19, 2023

Starting from the front row in the second position, Celestino Vietti lost some positions in the first part of the race due to some brawls with other riders. However, from the second half of the race, the No. 13 of the Fantic Racing Team started a great comeback that led him to pass under the chequered flag in sixth position, recording faster times than the leading group, finishing as the best of the Italian riders.

Thanks to this result, Vietti entered the top 10 in the Moto2 world championship standings.

Mattia Casadei closes his Qatar GP in twenty-sixth place, showing continued signs of growth this weekend.

Celestino Vietti: "I am sorry because we could have done a better result. I wasn't incisive initially, but I managed to make up several positions as the tyre went down. Now we go to Valencia to finish the season well."

Mattia Casadei: "I didn't get a good start, and to recover, I went long and lost contact with the other riders. It was a shame because I started to lap well, and we could have done better. Let's prepare for Valencia; I can't wait to get on track because I know the circuit and want to do well in the last race."
