German Moto2 GP, qualifying: Celestino Vietti will start from the fourth row

At the end of Q2, number 13 of the Fantic Racing team gets the 11th time and will start from the fourth row in tomorrow's race.

Chemnitz, June 17, 2023

With Q2 in the afternoon, the second day of the German GP has come to an end. The morning rain affected FP3, but the sun dried the Sachsenring's asphalt, allowing Q1 and Q2 to take place in dry conditions.

Celestino Vietti secured a direct spot in Q2, thanks to Friday's FP. He proved to be one of the fastest riders, even in the challenging corners of Sachsenring. However, he lost two laps due to traffic on the track, which prevented him from starting further ahead.

For tomorrow's race, Cele will start from the fourth row of the grid, in P11, with a time of 1'24.478.

Vietti will be the only Fantic Racing team rider: Borja Gomez suffered a concussion following a crash during FP2 and was declared unfit for the rest of the weekend. He will undergo another medical checkup on Thursday for the Dutch GP.

Celestino Vietti: "I am satisfied with my progress since FP1 and feel good while riding. I didn't complete a clean lap for a good time, but I am confident. Our next step is to analyze the data and prepare for tomorrow's race. Tire management will be essential."
