The Spanish rider of the Fantic Racing Team qualified in third place and will start from the front row for the second consecutive Grand Prix. 

Aron started the Practice 2 well and stayed in the lead for more than half of the session. In the final stages a fall without consequences didn't allow him to improve his lap time, however he still gained the direct access to Q2. In qualifying, Aron gave further proof of his speed by finishing third in 1:41.713, securing the front row for tomorrow’s race. 

Xavi Cardelus, in his first full year in Moto2, is improving session after session. Two mistakes in Q1 affected two good laps, not allowing him to access Q2. He will start from the 26th position.

"The qualifying position is very good, this is the result of the work that we have done together with the Fantic Racing Team in every session.
