Città della Pieve, June 18th, 2023

Exactly one month after the last tricolour round in Abruzzo, this weekend, the Assoluti d'Italia made a stop in Città della Pieve, in the province of Perugia, to hold the sixth round of the 2023 season of the top Italian enduro championship in a single race on  Sunday 18 June.

The Motoclub Castello della Pieve, assisted by Track Inspector Mario Rinaldi, designed a high-level race course for the occasion, with a total length of 65 km, divided into three highly technical and treacherous special tests to be repeated four times during the single race day on Sunday, for a total of twelve PS, to which was added the "Prologue" disputed by our riders in the afternoon of Saturday 17/6 in the presence of a festive and numerous public present.

The race day on Sunday, 18 June, got underway in typical summer sunshine on a course that saw our riders juggling, after the start from the paddock and a 10-km transfer, with the first special test on the programme:  a 4.5-km Cross Test, very fast and on hard terrain with numerous ups and downs and counter slopes, followed by a 1.5-km Extreme Test in a forest with beaten terrain mixed with gravel, alternating natural ups and downs with many areas with artificial obstacles, and at the end of the lap a 6-km Enduro Test on hard terrain interspersed with numerous rocks.

Sixth consecutive victory for Kevin Cristino, rider of Fantic Racing, in the 125 class, where he currently holds first place overall. The rider riding the Fantic XE 125 also gained several points in the class classification due to the absence of another Fantic rider, Pietro Scardina. Excellent performance for Fantic Racing teammate Valentino Corsi, who amazed everyone in Città della Pieve with a second-place finish after a fantastic day of racing.

Factory Racing's Lorenzo Macoritto took an excellent second place in the 300 2-stroke class. The rider riding a Fantic XE 300 consolidated his provisional third position in the 300-class classification.

In the Foreigners class, two Fantic riders entered the Top Ten of the Overall classification; with an eighth place, Albin Norrbin, Fantic Racing's rider, showed tenacity and speed in all the special tests, besides taking sixth place in the Foreigners class. Riding the Fantic XEF 250 4T Jed Etchells, JET Fantic Racing rider, collected a tenth place in the Overall and a seventh place in the Foreigners class. Excellent performance also for his teammate, Harry Edmondson, who conquered an eleventh place in the Foreigners class.

The Assoluti d'Italia will stop for a month before returning on 22 and 23 July at Sant'Angelo in Vado (PU) for the seventh and eighth rounds of the 2023 season.

Lorenzo Macoritto (team Fantic Racing Enduro): "A good performance here in Città della Pieve and an excellent second place in a 300 class that is very close".

Kevin Cristino (team Fantic Racing Enduro): "Sixth consecutive victory, and I reconfirm myself as the leader in the provisional standings. I am very happy, also for my teammate Valentino Corsi who finished in second position in the 125 class this weekend by riding a great race."

Jed Etchells (team JET Fantic Racing Enduro): "I had started the race weekend well with a good fourth overall time in the Super Test, then I made a few mistakes in the Enduro Test, but I am still confident because the speed is good."
